This is the 9th (and final) segment in a multi-part series taking a deeper dive into the 2024-25 district strategic priorities. Over the last two months, I have introduced the various priorities the district is working through this school year. Obviously, the One Campus project is a very public priority and one that is currently the focus of significant efforts through the work of the Building and Turf Field Committees as we progress through the design phase of this project. Please see Building Committee chair Tim Valenti's update in this newsletter for more details about the work on the One Campus project this Fall.
Part of the strategic priority work each year includes an accountability component. In January and June annually, I provide the Board and school community with progress reports outlining the status of all priorities. In many cases, priorities will carry over from one year to the next, as evident by the 2023-24 year-end Progress Report. On another note, we have had several pertussis (whooping cough) cases in our schools since school has started. Communication has been sent out either through the school or district, depending on the number of active cases at any given time. Instead of sending out individual letters when we have new cases, we will be posting current and archived cases in this newsletter going forward as long as pertussis continues to be active in the school community.
Finally, a week away from the Veterans Day holiday on November 11, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our veterans of foreign wars for their service, dedication, and loyalty to our nation. America's great experiment at self-governance is made possible only because of the men and women who have bravely served our nation in order to keep the world safe for democracy. There are simply no words to express the gratitude to which we owe our veterans for their selfless acts of patriotism.
