Greely Rangers have a long tradition of excelling both in the classroom and in other areas that make up a student's experience, whether on the field, in the gym, in the arts center, or at an academic or performing arts contest, among others. Over the last week, three state championships have been secured by our student athletes in the girls & boys soccer and football programs, impressive in their hard-fought contests and also in their collective season at the top of their game.
Though our students have proven that they can play on both grass and turf, having dedicated and consistent access to a high-quality turf field whose product enhances the playing experience is not only a gift from the community, but one that has been earned time and time again. As our turf field committee continues its work and advocacy for our student athletes, it is heartening to know that our community supports the kind of facilities that match the caliber of the players who use them. On another note, I am pleased to announce that Christine Girard, who handles accounts payable/receivable invoices for the district, has been selected as MSAD #51's new Finance Manager. She's been in her current position since 2009 and has a working knowledge of all facets of the district's Finance Office. Christine holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and has previous experience in the private sector as an accountant. She is replacing the outgoing bookkeeper, Sue Fuller, who is retiring at the end of December after 24 years on the job. Many thanks to Sue for her outstanding service to MSAD #51 over the years and best wishes for a happy retirement.
