Update from the Superintendent - January 13, 2025

It's that time of year again when we ask for your feedback as to how we're doing as a school district.

The annual MSAD #51 Stakeholder Survey asks students in grades 3-12, faculty/staff, and parents/guardians for feedback on a wide variety of topics that align with our mission to help all students achieve their personal best. In effect, this is a quality assurance tool that helps us evaluate whether or not we are providing educational services that meet the needs of our students and the expectations of staff and parents/guardians.

Today you should have received a link to this survey depending on your primary connection to MSAD #51 (student, staff member, or parent/guardian). In 2024, we were fortunate that 2,425 respondents completed the survey, representing 45% of all stakeholders requested to participate. This impressive response provided us a real pulse on the views and attitudes of those most closely connected to our school community, and we are hoping to meet or exceed this percentage again this year. Why are these surveys important and how do we use the results?

❏ Annual temperature check on various areas of the school district;

❏ Regularly measures student, staff, and parent attitudes using a 360 degree feedback instrument;

❏ Metric in district’s Annual Report;

❏ Helps district monitor trends and proactively respond;

❏ Helps to inform and mark progress around district and school strategic priorities;

Once the survey window closes and all data has been compiled, a summary of the results will be presented to the Board and made available to all stakeholders in the district's weekly newsletter. Thank you in advance for taking a few moments to share your feedback with us.
